Accelerate scientific
exploration
Scroll down to donate to 2FP and learn about supporting the future of microbial biotechnology.
2FP is built on giving.
Our scientists and volunteers donate their hours and effort and ideas — right now, we all have second jobs and work nights, weekends, and early mornings to advance 2FP’s mission.
Our industry partners donate resources, equipment, and expertise, everything from dive gear to sequence reagents.
And of course, our donors and sponsors , like you, contribute their resources — none of this would be possible without you.
How much does our science cost?
-
$15,000
A small scale sampling expedition
-
$300
Sequencing a single sample
-
$450
Monthly data storage and analysis costs
-
$2,500
Characterizing the carbon sequestration capability of a new species
-
$8
The materials required to collect and process a single sample
-
$750
Monthly lab consumables (gloves, reagents, test tubes, petri plates, etc)
We’ll make it count.
You can choose to allocate your donation to a specific Initiative — Carbon, Coral, Crops, or Education — or you can donate to the 2FP general fund. No matter what you do, we commit to using these funds how you want to see them deployed. To let us know how you want to see these resources spent, reach out to us on instagram or ping us in our contact form.
You can even allocate your donation to “technologies for lowering the cost of science,“ if you want to really pay it forward.
Also, make sure you sign up for our newsletter so you can receive our reports and follow the progress of our work.
Thank you.
